Are Lego Island 2 & Lego Island Extreme Stunts getting a portable port as well?

It depends on whether someone want to but the same years long efforts into decompilations of such titles.

Doesn't the 2nd game use the same engine? If so, it would be easier right?

It doesn't, LI2 and IXS were developed by a completely different studio/team (Silicon Dreams) and are entirely different codebases.

Bits of LI1's game engine (Omni) can be found in earlier Mindscape games (most notably Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat), however before LI1, Omni was primarily a CD asset streaming system, not a fully fledged "game engine". LI1 was the first "Omni" game to have 3D capabilities, and Mindscape went out of business shortly afterwards, so there isn't really much of the decomp that can be used for any other game.

Personally, I never really cared for LI2 (and never really played much of IXS) so I don't have any interest to launch a decomp. The team has started a decomp of LEGO Racers though which is going well, and I obviously encourage anyone who is interested in starting a decomp to do so - with today's tools, there's never been a better time!
