If by chance someone else other than me are still active hereHi flatrute,
I appreciate your help in moderating the forum. It is true that it's fallen under neglect since I've been focusing on larger projects and less on fostering a community.
I do have future plans for the forum, however it's likely going to involve replacing phpBB with something else. I've come to the conclusion that "going back to the past" is not the answer, and I should instead find something more "evolutionary" that tries to combine the best of modern services with the best of older services.
So the forum isn't getting shut down, but I do think it will be changed considerably in the near future.
Matt

This place is about to change
A few days ago I emailed Matt about the situation of this forum and here is his response:

Re: This place is about to change
So some weeks ago this site was completely inaccessible (Cloudflare returned their error code 525) and when I asked about it he responded:

Damn it clankersThe forum was getting hammered by bots, consuming as much as 600GB per day(!) on a VPS that has a 3000GB per month bandwidth limit. I was away from home and didn't have time to figure out how to curb them, so the quickest thing I could do to prevent my entire VPS from getting shut down was to disable the forum for now.
I should have it back up at some point, but I have to figure out what to do about the bots.
