Curious if anybody is working on cracking firmware passed 9.0.0, or if there is already another exploit for adding custom firmware. I am looking to jailbreak my old ps4 and putting emulators on it because it is not really useful for anything else anymore.

There definitely seems to be something on the horizon. Reputable security researcher CTurt recently disclosed an exploit he discovered in Sony's PS2 emulator that allows escaping the emulator and running native code on the PS4/PS5. He claims it's essentially unpatchable, which implies it would work on more recent firmware. It hasn't been turned into any kind of formal "softmod" yet, but it seems like using it to run homebrew is indeed the goal.
