Arguably, it's not even
really a flaw. The versatility means it can be used to quote people who aren't on the site, for example:
Wikipedia wrote:Wikipedia is hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit organization that also hosts a range of other projects.
It's basically just a slightly fancier way of writing: "I suck", said MattKC. It's doesn't really mean anything and is fairly easy to disprove; you're not really supposed to read it as a literal direct/programmatically generated quote, it's more just a bit of nice formatting.
