It would be nice to have a status update feature on the forum it sits at the bottom or the side of the forum and it would show recent status updates it can be used to post random stuff and obviously status updates and other little things that wouldn't justify creating an entire topic for.

Kind of. But not really. There aren't any limitations placed on them besides the absence of the title.

There isn't really anything we could fill such a thing with at the moment. Besides, we already have a "Site Announcements" board.

They're not really meant for announcements. Just random stuff that couldn't warrant much discussion or creating new topic. There was a post I've seen earlier on the forum that ended up getting deleted that would've fit very well as a status update. Could be jokes, or something about your personal life or whatever. Kind of like a social media thing I guess

Bringing this topic again, how about mChat? I think it is more general than that Status Update thing.

I feel like if we implement a chat, it'll probably be the existing stream chat.

Yeah we've talked about forum integration. If it ends up becoming a "forum chat", it'll definitely be implemented.
