Hey I'm MattKC! I'm a YouTuber, game modder, software developer, and occasional hardware tinkerer. I love the world of retro gaming and computing, and much of my content revolves around repairing, improving, and preserving old games, software, and hardware.Here are just a few examples of what I've done over the years:<ul><li>I created <a href="https://legoisland.org/rebuilder" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">LEGO Island Rebuilder</a> - an open source modding tool that fixes a lot of bugs when playing LEGO Island on modern computers (and also adds extra features that work as far back as Windows 95).</li><li>I <a href="https://youtu.be/lJVGd7cBGuQ" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">decompiled the client for SEGA's Sonic Runners</a> so the community could add features to it after official support was discontinued.</li><li>I wrote a game that was just small enough to <a href="https://youtu.be/ExwqNreocpg" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">fit entirely inside a QR code</a>.</li><li>I <a href="https://youtu.be/3Bv19Aub3sA" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">tracked down</a> and <a href="https://archive.org/details/lego-island-japanese" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">preserved</a> an extremely rare version of LEGO Island.</li><li>I've <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdWmm33VzBM" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">repaired</a> <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uy-btflp0-U" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">many</a> <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CH22S97pJ4" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">consoles</a> <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SY_O8F-L8Ns" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">and</a> <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNhmapPlarw" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">other</a> <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3JYThCJ70U" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">electronics</a> so they can continue to bring people joy.</li></ul>I love contributing to this community and keeping these nostalgic experiences alive, however all of this takes time, and living costs money.
