How to run Adobe Photoshop 2024 on Wine (Linux)

The following is instructions on getting the (currently) latest version of Photoshop running on Wine. For reference, I'm using Arch Linux and Wine 8.20, however these instructions should work just as well on other distros too with a similar Wine version. Simulcasting with OBS and NGINX

If Twitch's announcement that they're allowing simulcasting has gotten you interested in trying it, here's a way you can do it completely with FOSS! Install NGINX with the RTMP module. The RTMP module is required and doesn't come with normal builds of NGINX. Acquiring this will differ per platform: ...

Re: Rubber Mod killing ps3s?

I did wonder about this, even when I did it on The Cockroach PS3™, I wondered if it might put strain on the CPU's solder joints. So far, it still seems fine, but I might replace it at some point with a plastic brace - looks like the guy in the video sells a 3D printed one on eBay.

Re: What OS are you maining?

Laptop hardware is always the toughest to support. For various reasons, laptops just have way more custom hardware in them, while desktops are all pretty much the same. And unless those laptops go out of their way to support Linux (or happen to be popular with Linux users), it's fairly common to hav...

Re: How I set up Windows 7 (or Vista) GPU passthrough with libvirt/QEMU/KVM

I have tried the VGA.SYS disabling but didn't have any luck. I did get Windows 7 booting in UEFI mode since writing this guide though so maybe it deserves an update at some point.

Re: Why is there a winmine decomp if the source already leaked

According to the project README, he didn't know there was a leak when he made it, and he mostly just did it for fun/challenge anyway. I don't think it's any deeper than that.

Any chance that the full rotation data of models could be displayed in this program? It is a goal to eventually show 3D stuff in the app, especially in regards to the 3D animations, however it'll be some time before that's possible since all of the model data is stored in WORLD.WDB, which is a comp...

Re: Unity downgrading scripts from Sonic Runners vid?

When I get deeper into these projects I'll probably write my own scripts like you said, or modify AssetRipper/uTiny to work for my needs. Oh yeah, this is something I started considering towards the end - that it probably would have been better to just fork uTiny and export the correct result right...

Re: Need help with charging an ASUS TF101G tablet without the proprietary adapter

Hmm that plug seems pretty proprietary, and I'm guessing this predates USB-C? In which case, no, there probably isn't, at least nothing that would be easier than just getting a replacement charger (e.g. you could solder the correct voltage directly to the board, but that's not a great solution by an...

Re: Unity downgrading scripts from Sonic Runners vid?

Unfortunately even if I do still have them somewhere, I doubt they would actually be very helpful. The scripts I wrote were not designed to be used by other people or even more than once; I wrote them very quickly for this one project and never assumed I would need them again. All of the paths were ...

Re: how do i make my own ubuntu based linux distro?

i wanna create an OS to unite all OSes, something that could actually make an impact on the world It's a respectable goal, but probably not really possible. It sounds like you want to go against Windows and macOS, both of which are backed by billion dollar corporations and have massive established ...

Re: LEGO Island mentioned in XP source code

I don't know C/C++, but is this similar to the injection method that Rebuilder uses? Nah this code isn't injected into the game, it's just a behavior that DirectDraw carries out specifically to not break LEGO Island. Which makes me think... I wonder if WINE managed to replicate this too despite the...

What HTTP server software are you using? If it's Apache or NGINX, you should be able to just block its user agent. If you go through Cloudflare, you can also block in Cloudflare before it even reaches your server. Here's the article for Apache I found that gave me the idea to block, though I use NGI...

Re: How can I make this computer more sellable?

Glad you managed to sell it. And hey, there are worse things than a spare GPU! If you do any 3D rendering or video editing, you can probably utilize it as a secondary GPU, and of course I use secondary GPUs for running virtual machines at near-native speeds.

Re: How do some people get famous online

The answer is going to depend a lot on your motivation. Do you just want fame for the sake of fame, or do you want recognition for something that you have or that you've done? Fame as a concept isn't necessarily complicated, it simply means people find you interesting enough to want to pay attention...

Re: how do i make an old android phone into a windows ce / windows mobile pocket pc

I'm fairly certain this is not possible. Android phones have a very wide array of hardware, and manufactures specifically write drivers and tailor Android to fit each device, which they can do because Android is open source. Windows CE/Mobile on the other hand is not, so without Microsoft's direct i...

Re: Reburn 3: Development Blog

Lol sorry for going MIA, it's true that the LEGO Island decomp has taken a bit more of my time, but my plan has always been to alternate between these two projects, and the only reason I haven't yet is because of my silly 2-month-long move. Don't worry, I'll be back soon!
