Re: How can someone learn more about reverse engineering and decompiling
I would rather just get more familkar wjtb different languages, ljbraries and frameworks. Different OSes and platforms too if that's something you're interested in. You could also dive into malware and ethical hacking. There are lots of YouTubers that take malware samples and reverse engineer them. ...

Re: How can someone learn more about reverse engineering and decompiling
As a programmer I would say that being able to engineer and compile software will naturally help out with reverse engineering and decompiling. Over time you'll tend to pick up patterns and rough jdeas of how software could've been written based on how you youraelf would have done it. I'm not Matt bh...

Re: Blades dashboard in modded x360 17759
Sadly kinda never got to experience the Blades interface first-hand. I did try a pre-Kinect Xbox 360 at a family friend's house, but it ran the version of the dashboard where everything had a dark theme. The one from before the Kinect update. I did eventually get a Kinect Xbox 360 as a hand-me-down ...

Re: I'm a blind game developer, AMA.
Since you made your own thread anyway , perhaps it is time to answer my questions here? Hehe don't worry, I didn't forget! :) Quoting the original post below, then I'll answer. Every time someone asks me this question, they always apologize as if it's actually rude to ask. But it's not! I wish more...

Re: Game Boy Pocket vertical line
Out of curiosity how does a screen specifically get sun burned? I've never even heard of that happening though admittedly we don't take electronics out into the sun very often. I do not know if "sun burned" is even a right term. I have a 4:3 beige Sharp monitor that ended up in the same s...

Re: what do you use to clean stickers off of electronics?
I just use sheer will-power. Often times, if I get an electronic full of stickers, it was a hand-me-down that I'm only using because it's obsolete low-end hardware I'm using to test a game on. Since I'm not going to take it out into public or use it as a daily system, a lil left-over adhesive residu...

Re: I'm a blind game developer, AMA.
How the hell do you know what do you type? When did you get blind? Typing: Muscle memory, and the right kind of keyboard. I still have enough vision to at least see what I'm doing with assistive technology. That being said, when I'm unable to zoom into the screen or have dark mode/inverted colors, ...

I'm a blind game developer, AMA.
My signature on this forum states that I'm blind, and that isn't a lie. I've casually brought it up in conversation here on certain threads, and I've been asked and have answered a few questions from you guys about my blindness and how I use the computer/do game development/whatnot despite my disabi...

Re: Best place to find working PS3 controllers?
eBay and Facebook Marketplace are usually my gotos nowadays. While there are scams/inaccurate listings, this is the vast minority of situatiions. I'd say at least 80-85% is perfectly legitimate. Buying second hand is a bit of an acquired skill. Kind of like avoiding malware on the internet, you sta...

Used to love the ATV off-road fury series. Hate them now because I can't play them thanks to my blindness. So I've never been able to beat a single one.

Y’know what’d be awesome but also annoying to do? Making an adaptive music track thingy or whatever. Untitled Goose Game has a really great system where the music actually changes to fit what’s happening. The challenge there is adaptive music needs to be specifically designed. Separate instrument t...

Re: Best place to find working PS3 controllers?
I live in Canada. Usually for things I absolutely need, I'm okay with importing from the US. But I try to stick to inside Canada since shipping is significantly cheaper and usually faster.

Re: What OS are you maining?
I wish I could say something cooler than Fedora 37 but Fedora 37 lmao. Runs well. I also use Windows 10 on a secondary machine and remote into it over Parsec if I need access to a quick Windows machine, works better than VM for my purposes. Knowing you as a somewhat close-friend, I fully expected y...
