Re: Hibernation (S3/S4) in Linux?
It's S4 sleep I was actually looking for and that's not supported by Linux. It's related to kernel lockdown somehow. I can't disable secure boot on my thinkpad unfortunately so it will remain this way, I think the windows installation might break if I disabled it anyway. As a side note related to ker...

Hibernation (S3/S4) in Linux?
I have a Thinkpad L380 that I've been primarily using with Ubuntu 22.0.4.3 LTS but it does have Windows as well to dual boot. On Windows I am used to being able to put my laptop in hibernation mode, essentially turning the laptop off to save battery but being able to resume relatively quickly after ...

Re: What OS are you maining?
Still maining Windows 10 but I am currently dual booting Windows 10 and Ubuntu on my laptop for my Operating System and System development class for C and I've got like 4 USB drives for free and I'm putting Kali Linux on one to run, maybe I'll get into hacking and pen testing.

Re: Installing Windows XP SP3 on Samsung 870 EVO
Windows XP doesn't support SATA by default. Only IDE. There are Windows XP ISO's on the internet that have SATA drivers added, there's also a way to add them to an install yourself. I'm not going to add any links here but if you search for "windows xp with sata drivers iso" in google the f...

Re: Video games you love? Video games you hate?
There's lots to love. Life is Strange has a special place in my heart. Even though it's not the best graphically and it's gameplay is somewhat similar to those of Telltale games, the story was amazing, it's something I wish I could experience again. It definitely deserves it's Overwhelmingly Positiv...

Lucky Patcher could work. I think it has options to remove google play dependencies although I haven't used it in a while.

Re: Trying to get old enhanced cds to run
I found this on stack exchange which might be useful if you still want to passthrough of the drive to the OS. Go to VirtualBox's Machine > Settings > Storage > Enable Passthrough for the DVD drive. To allow an external DVD drive to be recognized by a VirtualBox Virtual Machine (VM) it must be config...

Re: How I installed Snow Leopard with virsh/virt-manager/QEMU/KVM
It's there. It's at the very, very bottom because it's sorted from newest to oldest, and naturally all of the updates/additions came after the retail release. Make sure you typed "10.6" into the search/filter so only relevant files are listed (in fact entering "10.6 Snow Leopard 10A4...

Re: How I installed Snow Leopard with virsh/virt-manager/QEMU/KVM
I can't find the Snow Leopard build. All I see is a bunch of packages for Java, XCode, KernelDebug etc. I got my image from archive.org, retail dvd image. I searched for mac os 10.6 user dvd iso and it was the first result on google. Also I have to ask would this work with Ryzen? I know AMD CPU's ca...

Re: I own an extremely rare game which isn't available on the internet
The GBxCart RW would be a good choice for dumping it works with GB, GBC and GBA games and it's 30$-40$ and you can use it to dump games, saves and even write gameboy flash cartridges.

That's pretty neat. I'm not very familiar with 3D printed but would it be possible to sand a 3D printed part and paint it to give it a similar finish to what the PS3 had originally?

Re: I tried to switch to linux (i gave up)
If you do more than just using a web browser switching to a different OS is not an easy thing to do (even if you switch from windows to mac or vice versa) IDK. I hackintoshed my desktop using a separate hard drive a while ago and found it pretty usable(besides the PAINFUL setup process). Besides ha...

There's this video where someone swaps Test Drive 5 and Demolition Racer on the PS1 and there are pretty interesting results.
