Re: How to run Adobe Photoshop 2024 on Wine (Linux)

Forgive me if I'm straying offtopic, but does anyone rock an older PS on Wine? The versions that stand out most in my mind are 7.0 and CS2. They have the advantage of not being SaaS. And I'd rather anything than the GIMP with its inscrutable keyboard shortcuts.

Re: What OS are you maining?

Windows 2000 with extended kernel: Very swell. What hardware are you using? How well does it handle common tasks? I have a Core 2 Duo laptop somewhere, I'd love to try running a freak of nature OS like that. On the subject of my own OSes and setup: My main laptop (a late 2017 MacBook Air), Mac OS 1...

Lost F-Zero Satellite broadcast tracks restored.

As you may already be aware, back in the mid-90s Japanese owners of the Super Famicom could buy an adaptor that would connect it to a... satellite receiver! Nintendo would periodically broadcast data to lucky owners, and they would then download selected games from space. Yep, Ninetendo were thinkin...

Enhanced WipeOut source port

In other 90s gaming resurrection news, the first WipeOut source has been rewritten to work on Linux/Mac/Windows. The source has also received a much needed tidy up. You can get it here: https://github.com/phoboslab/wipeout-rewrite. If you have the dependent libraries (mostly SDL and 3d lib stuff) it...

Re: help with thoroughly rusted screw pls (Psion Series 5)

Thanks Matt, I'll give one of those a go to see how far I get. If there's any luck I'll update the thread. Some photos, the Psion itself: https://www.thran.uk/img/psion-series5.jpeg The corroded screw: https://www.thran.uk/img/badscrew.jpeg Honestly, I'm in favour of making it illegal to leave leaky...

Re: What are you working on?

Not currently working on this, but the most complete thing I've had a hand in is RSRU, a static website builder written in Perl. It has four templates created by yours truly, and can generate gallery/blog style sites. I use it to build Well Made Web, a gallery of notable and high-effort indieweb/anc...

May be of interest to some. The leaker has included everything else needed to build the game in an accompanying Mega upload.

Re: Frustrations with purchasing a phone

It is a problem that they all look the same. I can remember the early HTC Android phones, they actually looked unique and when I see one they make me want one (and I'm on team Apple). Or the Sony Xperia series, or even the iPhone 4 all stand out as unique in my head. Now the slabs are just uniform g...

help with thoroughly rusted screw pls (Psion Series 5)

Hi all, I'm having screwing problems. [offtopic] Cool a forum; I like these and why were they taken from us? [/offtopic] Anyhow I have recently purchased a Psion Series 5. Not sure how well known they are around the world but they were a fairly nifty palmtop computer made by a British firm in...
