you could try simply replacing the drive? they are about 50 bucks from a quick Google search. I don't say this often, but sometimes things just cant be fixed.

I dont mean to bump this old thread, but do you think it would be possible to port to browser? I'm sure it would be difficult but it would increase compatibility, basically anyone with a computer and a browser could play it. sort of like the sm64 web ports.

maybe try adjusting the potentiometer or "pot" on the side of the disc drive. this does require you to disassemble the console. there are guides online. it takes a lot of patience and a small screwdriver. maybe use a junk disc to make sure you dont burn your disc, you can actually fu#k you...
