reply to this message if you want a subdomain lol.
I don't want to be the kill-joy here, but it's not okay to just use MattKC's name and register a domain with it, without even asking him.

Re: What are you working on?

It is like when I (might have) talked about how Nokia N9 basically did things similar to iPhone 10 about a whole decade ago and someone jumped in and said "yeah but Android is an awesome OS" I can't follow this comparison, because the thread owner mentioned something about understanding t...

Re: Is the new live stream chat based on IRC?

The only reason my chat needs its own donation implementation is because if we're not using YouTube or Twitch chat, there's no access to either of those things (though it is true that I keep a bigger cut of it this way, that wasn't the motivation for the new chat, I could have just linked a donate ...

Re: Is it just me or is populair music nowadays a bit boring?

Bandcamp had an introduction article on the genre in question with some samples you can have a listen to. There are some bangers and some even sound like German techno from the 90s, but in better audio quality :) Time is generally speaking a good filter for bad content in general. True words... Als...

Is the new live stream chat based on IRC?

In the last stream Matt explained he uses his new chat , because Youtubes chat is bad, because it uses REST and it's not like Twitch, which is based on IRC. So my question is: Is the new chat based on IRC? I couldn't figure out a lot, because it says I have to login with [insert bad company name her...

Re: Is it just me or is populair music nowadays a bit boring?

It is funny to read this as a J-Core listener since new music with weird and/or brand new genres come out consistently and the buying/selling of CD records directly in annual conventions is (still) commonplace though to be fair it is Japan after all YEP It sounds like Japan is a cultured and well d...

Re: Welcome! I made a forum.

Your mention of "branches" reminded me of mailing lists (I am thinking about the Linux kernel one specifically)... mailing lists would be even good, if there would be a good way to make them easily accessible to others. There are websites, which are converting emails into html, but those ...

Re: AetherSX2 ceases development

Last I heard of this the harassment was because some people couldn’t get the emulator to work on low end devices and blamed it on the emulator being “unoptimised”. Like imagine being that triggered that your low spec phone can’t handle a PS2 emulator so you felt the need to harass the dev. That’s n...

Thought I'd start a general thread for people's ongoing software projects because that seems chill. Show me what you've been writing! To start, I've been slowly but surely porting the 2013 Sonic 1/2 Decompliations to C#, partially to dig into how the engine works, partially so they can run on Windo...

Re: What does it take to run a forum these days?

A website and a forum are complete different things. You could create a website with a static web site generator and publish it on your shitty router, because it doesn't take resources at all and it is online 24/7. Or you could ask a friend if you could publish it on their servers, because everyone ...

Re: What IDE's do yall use?

Vim... and nothing else than that for years, now.

Some people say it is just a text editor, but with the right plugins I find it even more powerful than current IDEs.

And I hate everything based on Electron, which is just swallowing resources and is spreading like Covid-19.

Re: Is it just me or is populair music nowadays a bit boring?

A huge problem is spotify. It degenerates art a lot. Music must be simple and interesting within the first 3 seconds, otherwise people will not listen to it anymore and on spotify artists get payed if the listener is there for a specific amount of time, which leads to bad music and to everything sou...

Maybe this question is not fair if you ask people who are refurbishing/repairing video game consoles. I have two boxes of SNESs and a box of Gameboys (DMG-01, Colors and a few Advance), because I am focusing on 90s consoles atm. But my favorite console/handheld is the Odroid Go Advance .
