Re: Editing the models and textures in lego island.

Indeed, textures and models are stored in WORLD.WDB. Sadly there aren't any particularly easy tools for reconstructing, there were plans to spend time more thoroughly reverse engineering it, but those kind of got supplanted by the decomp instead since that'll largely tell us everything we need to kn...

Assuming you're talking about the decomp, yes it's progressing very well! You can find daily activity on the GitHub repository.

Re: Reburn 3: Development Blog

If it's any motivation whatsoever; I was the audio programmer on Burnouts 2/3/4/360/Legends/Dominator, and I'm following this process with fascination. I'd personally go with the Xbox version, it's a lot better *and* the PS2 was hard enough to work with when Sony was helping us. Keep it up <3 No wa...

Re: ClonerAlliance review: What happened?

I think it felt a little bit to me like I'd sold out. My review was fair and objective, making its flaws very clear, but I had still given a significant amount of publicity to a product that I ultimately didn't think was very good. Today, it might be the sort of thing I'd put on the Bytes channel, b...

Re: Universal MoBo for a monitor

I should preface this by saying I've never actually done a driver board swap myself (yet) so I recommend doing some research yourself to confirm. I believe this should work. From what I can tell, your display has a 30-pin LVDS plug and so does that board. It's unclear whether it comes with a cable, ...

Re: Matt, what equipment do you use?

I mean the answer is fairly simple, I don't upgrade all of my equipment when I can, I upgrade it when I need to. My computer still has ~3 year old components because I haven't seen the need to upgrade it yet. When I do, I probably will.

Re: Universal MoBo for a monitor

This is most likely an LVDS connector. You should be able to find an LVDS driver board from AliExpress/eBay/etc. that will allow plugging an HDMI, etc. signal into it. However, the LVDS driver board also usually handles the OSD and brightness/contrast controls, and that stuff might not fit your moni...

Re: How do I run Pyongyang Racer?

Later in the description on that post, I linked an archive of the standalone Flash players you can use to play it. Flash was mostly known for being embedded in websites, but Adobe/Macromedia also released it as a standalone EXE that could play SWF files on demand. Since you're on Arch though, you ca...

Re: How I set up Windows XP GPU passthrough with libvirt/QEMU/KVM

I notice you have 3 "hostdev"s set up in your XML file, perhaps the QEMU "hostdev0" argument is attaching to the wrong one? Try playing around with the "hostdev0" ID (maybe try "hostdev1" and "hostdev2"), or limiting the number of hostdevs to just yo...

Re: Reburn 3: Development Blog

Work has started back up on Reburn 3! It's taken longer than I'd hoped, but we're officially making progress once again! To be honest, part of the reason I was putting it off was because I felt a little unsure about the direction to take this long-term. As I've alluded in earlier updates, I'm curren...

Ahh makes sense, that's good information to know regardless. Thanks for testing!

I *think* msvcp140_codecvt_ids.dll comes with one of the vcruns, I should double check and maybe add that to the OP.

Ahh Hover, I love that game! I've been wanting to do something with it for a while, but I've obviously got a lot of other things going on right now. As for the file you're looking at, could it be an RMI? Basically a RIFF-based MIDI format created by Microsoft (I believe the actual data is more or le...

Re: How to run Adobe Photoshop 2024 on Wine (Linux)

First of all, which version of Wine are you using? It's possible you might need more DLLs on older versions than mine. Secondly, the "DSREG.DsrGetJoinInfo" error should be solved by transplanting "dsreg.dll". Perhaps you need to add another DLL override for that? Did you get your...

Re: Getting Lego Island building under Wine on linux

Yes, MSVC420 has trouble with spaces in filenames. See the following note from the decomp's README:
Visual C++ 4.2 has issues with paths containing spaces. If you get configure or build errors, make sure neither CMake, the repository, nor Visual C++ 4.2 is in a path that contains spaces.

How to run Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 on Wine (Linux)

The following is instructions on getting the (currently) latest version of Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 running on Wine. For reference, I'm using Arch Linux and Wine 8.20, however these instructions should work just as well on other distros too with a similar Wine version. Screenshot_20231115_223558.png ...
